My painting has been inspired by Raja
Ravi Varma’s oleograph Radha Gopies dreaming of Krishna.
Lord Krishna spent his childhood years in
“Gokul” on the banks of the holy river Yamuna. On being called by King Kamsa to
Mathura, he left Gokul forever, leaving behind the sweet melodious tune of his
flute and the many-hued remembrance of his affection, love, and devotion in the
hearts of the Gopis (cow her maidens).
As is Raja Ravi Varma's style of
portraying different attires and ornaments of the diverse regions of our
country. Likewise, I have tried to present the same medley in this creation of
mine.
